Youth Education Access
This initiative funds programs that expand educational access for young people in underserved Indiana communities. Support includes after-school programming, literacy initiatives, and college readiness resources for students K–12.

Emergency Services
This initiative supports organizations that enhance emergency response capabilities and public safety in Indiana communities. Funding may be used for volunteer fire departments, emergency medical services, rescue operations, training programs, equipment purchases, and other efforts that help first responders protect and serve their communities.

Family Welfare
This initiative funds programs that strengthen families and promote long-term stability for individuals and households in Indiana communities. Support includes family resource centers, counseling services, parenting education, crisis assistance, housing stability programs, and other efforts that improve the well-being and resilience of families.

2025
Early Childhood Education
The Ladybug Foundation secured and renovated a historic building for a local non-profit operator, Caterpillar Corner, to have a lease-free space to operate a early childhood center.
Outcome: 3 Organization Partnerships. $60k direct investment, $300k+ community partnership investment. 34 Early Childhood Education Seats Created. 1st Licensed Early Childcare Center created in West Pulaski County.

We believe transparency about our process helps applicants and community partners make the most of their time. Here are answers to the questions we hear most.
How does the foundation select initiative focus areas?
The board reviews community needs data and aligns focus areas with the foundation's mission. .
What types of organizations have received support?
The foundation has supported a range of organizations that align with it's mission and values.
Can past grantees apply again?
Yes. Past grantees are welcome and encouraged to apply for new funding cycles, particularly if they are expanding an initiative or applying learnings from a prior grant. Reapplications should highlight outcomes from previous funding and describe how new resources will be used.
Is there a geographic restriction on which organizations can apply?
The foundation prioritizes organizations operating in Indiana, though initiatives outside the state or the country are welcome to apply. Applicants should clearly describe their service area in the application to help the review team assess geographic fit and community impact.
How long does the grant review process take?
Review timelines vary by funding cycle, but applicants can typically expect an initial response within 6–8 weeks of submission. The foundation notifies all applicants of their status regardless of outcome.
